What’s in a name?
US Highway 66 was constructed in 1926. The highway, which became one of the most famous roads in America, originally connected Chicago, through Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona before ending in Santa Monica, California. It covered a total of 2,448 miles.
Thirty years later, transportation had evolved. Engines advanced and infrastructure expanded as population numbers multiplied and consumerism grew. Legacy highway systems that once connected the US could not support the new ways of doing things, without progressing. Engineers sought out more direct routes between cities and towns. In 1953, the first major bypass of US 66 was constructed. It was called Highway 44.
In an industry long resistant to change, we’re creating a major technology shift by introducing an end-to-end network of intelligent web service API connectivity. project44 powers the supply chain of the future through global, on-demand connectivity and visibility. For decades, web-service APIs have transformed other industries, acting as the building blocks for the most dynamic SaaS applications of today and allowing data to be transmitted from one system to another in nanoseconds.
With deep roots spanning both domain and SaaS technology products, Jett McCandless and Wally Ibrahim founded project44 to ensure that retailers, distributors, manufacturers, and 3PLs are empowered to communicate critical data with their transportation providers and supply chain partners in a fully-automated, real-time manner.
